Having returned to Donetsk, we with Andrey have started search wishing to float with us. From those who managed to be rung, from our institute group has agreed only Tolik. And I do not remember one more person, which name, we have found on mine on which passed to practice. Have gathered at my place to plan a campaign. Have decided to reach by bus to Raisin (Ukraine, the Kharkov area) and to float downstream - days on 10 - 12 as it will turn out. Have discussed, that it is necessary to take, the list has turned out about such:

Kayaks – 2 (2- and 3-seater);
Tent – 1 (4-seater);
Polyethylene for tent;
Inflatable mattresses - 4 (at everyone for this purpose to sleep);
Sleeping-bags - 4;
Backpacks - 4 (at everyone);
Axe - 1;
Small shovel - 1 (to dig round a flute round tent);
Lanterns - 2;
Kettle - 1 (5);
The small zinced bucket - 1 (7 l, the toad has knocked down one more kettle to buy for tea);
Frying pan;
The canister for potable water - 1 (30);
Flasks - 4;
Bowls, mugs, spoons, plugs, knifes - at everyone;
Dry fuel - 1 packing (quickly to kindle a fire);
Matches;
Warm clothes: a sweater, a jacket, woollen caps (I took a ski suit and has not regretted);
First-aid sets individually;
hygienic accessories;
Glue for rubber (on a failure case to stick a kayak);
Batteries for lanterns and плэера (I do not remember how many);
Products (already precisely I do not remember how many that): 2 or 3 kg of a potato, 1 kg of onions, 9 or 10 kg buckwheat, tinned stewed meat, fish canned food, a stick of dry sausage and are a little bread initially, tea, sugar, salt.

Kayaks, backpacks, mattresses, an axe at us were. Sleeping bags and tent has promised to take this fourth companion in hire on mine, and we have agreed to buy all the rest. Polyethylene have found (in 90th year difficultly was with many goods), the father has dragged a heap of the big dense packages from mine, and I have soldered them a soldering iron.

Early in the morning, when we should go, I was called by these the fourth and has told, that ostensibly it have plundered, all have taken out from apartment that is acquired by back-breaking toil, including tent and sleeping bags. I to it, of course, have not believed, but there is nothing (it is no wonder, that I do not remember his name). I have called Tolik, but it has already left, and Andrey then did not have phone (the mobile communication then too was not). It is good, that we have agreed to meet for an hour before bus departure at station and that all the others have appeared obligatory and punctual people. Andrey at home had a 3-seater tent, and they with my father had time to go by the car to it home and back. 2-seater a kayak we have left mine in Donetsk and have gone with 3-seater. All have typed the blessing of warm things as went without sleeping bags.

For 6 hours have reached Izyum, the river Severski Donets has appeared in 100 metres from road service station. In an hour have collected a kayak, have shifted products in tight bags which go complete with a kayak, have stuffed them in a nose and a kayak stern, have plunged and have floated on a current. In the first day we have decided not to put records as to hours to 5 evenings the rain began to drizzle. Near Izyum it is a lot of the woods, therefore for spending the night we have found a suitable place rather quickly (on the left coast) and to hours to 6 evenings have moored, have put tent, have kindled a fire, have prepared to eat. Andrey with itself had a vodka, have drunk for though and crumpled, but the successful beginning of our enterprise, attempted, have sat at a fire. In the same evening we have found out, that have committed one error: all three were smokers, and cigarettes that in pockets, someone had a tube took only, but too it is a little tobacco. In 90th year with cigarettes was hardly, in Donetsk it was already adjusted, and on villages - silence. We have decided, that we will not be late on this place, and we will float further in the morning, have laid down to sleep.

In the morning have warmed up the supper rests, have eaten, have washed ware, have gathered and somewhere in a floor of 10th have floated. Places there remarkable, woods, the trees declined over the river, the snags which are sticking out of water, transparent water in the river. Snags though give a certain wildness to a landscape, but they are better for bypassing 10th road. On the right party there were two inflows, repeatedly there were small islets.

Is, the truth, one lack of rowing on 3-seater to a kayak three together: 2 forward places are located one behind another at once, then there is a small luggage space, and behind it 3 place so two forward oarsmen should row either synchronously, or by turns, otherwise one will fight an oar about an oar of the neighbour. In 2-seater to a kayak of 2 places are divided by a luggage carrier which hardly is more than in 3-seater. Later, discussing this moment, we have come to conclusion, that it is better on 3-seater to float together then the luggage carrier turns out more long, than at 2-seater. If will choose a kayak, I advise it to consider.

By a dinner have found a sandy reach, have moored, have got canned food, bread and sausage, had a bite and have floated further. After a while on a left-hand side have seen small inflow or creek, and still hardly further the big inflow (in this place Severski Donets spreads more widely, and small whirlpools were visible many). Fishermen have told, that it is the river Oskol. As I then looked on the card, the first left inflow is too Oskol, but it grown and on it is better not to float, in a mouth Oskol spreads on 2 sleeves, forming the big island. We, not long thinking, have decided to come to Oskol, against a current. Floated hours till 6 evenings, have floated the railway bridge and have stopped in pine wood though deciduous trees there too were. Have set up camp, have found many dry branches and logs for a fire, and have decided to be late on couple of days.

Next day Tolik with Andrey have found boards and have decided to construct landing stage. The landing stage has turned out not so, they precipitately have passed to its one edge, something has turned out like a swing and both have appeared in water. Water, by the way, was cool, but we bathed with pleasure. We ate 3 times a day, even 1 time have welded soup-konder from the sausage rests. Fire supported within day at the expense of the big logs, it more conveniently than to prick fire wood and constantly to throw them in a fire. Technology such:

Collect brushwood (dry not thick branches), branches more thickly (diameter on 4 - 5 sm) and 1 big dry log (in diameter 15 - 25 sm, are possible at all very dry, but do not bring down live trees, mouldering too it is possible);
Break brushwood, do a small small group, break thick branches, put from above brushwood that the size of a heap was somewhere 40 sm in height and 50 - 70 sm in diameter, there should be a few thick branches near at hand that if that - to throw them in a fire;
Further set fire to a small slice of dry fuel and palm off it under a heap (it is possible to use a liquid for fire kindling to hope for a paper I do not recommend as to kindle a fire by means of it during a rain practically not probably);

Floated somewhere hours to 4 days and have reached almost to Schurovo. There have found a place on the left coast, just on a corner of wood and have decided to stop day on 2. Have put tent, have dissolved a fire, the potato already has ended by then, and we prepared porridges with tinned stewed meat, pork or chicken. By the way, we took lot of groats, would suffice 2 - 3 kg. Next day has charged a rain, and we played all the day preference. A day later after a dinner and Tolik elastic bands have decided to put Andrey and to catch some fish and as I not the fisherman to me have charged to go in Schurovo to buy a potato, bread, and can even cigarettes and vodka. The most simple way to get in Schurovo from our parking is to float there by a boat, but the boat was necessary for fishing. The settlement was visible from us, but to go on wood edge - the big hook turned out, therefore I have decided to pass on coast. Has a little passed, not the big company nearby had a rest and they have told, that on coast I will not pass - many gulfs, and I have decided then to go directly through meadows. It was the bad idea, in that summer there have passed many rains and meadows have turned to the present bog. To Schurovo I have, of course, reached, but only to hours to 8 evenings. Naturally all shops have been already closed, and I that has not bought. To come back through a bog on dark it would not be desirable, has asked indigenous population as still it is possible to reach, to me have shown road through wood. Already it was absolutely dark, when I have come across people having a rest near a fire, have asked them how further to reach the river. They have answered, that I am direct on the parking I will not leave, and I should go on coast through creeks and is better on dark it not to do. They have recommended to me to spend the night on cow-shed which was nearby, and have explained how there to pass. So I also have made. On cow-shed hospitable people worked, shepherds have poured vodka, the milkmaid of milk, have put to bed. At the crack of dawn I hane waked up, have had a drink milk and have gone further, left to the river just near that ferry about which I wrote earlier. Really, before camping I have overcome pair-three creeks in which at night without a lantern I would fail on the tomatoes. I went to camping to 9 am. Friends on me have attacked, where supposedly vanished, worried, in 10 evenings in Schurovo floated. Well, I it have told, how was. They have torn one elastic band, but something have caught, the second elastic band have tried to pull out too and too have torn. Unsuccessful tackle for this river - a current strong and on it seaweed so if it long not to extend it stretches on a current an arch cling, and it is torn finally. Then we had breakfast, have imposed fish with a nettle that was not gone, have gathered and have floated further.

The same day ones and a half somewhere have to 1 pm reached a dam in height of metre. I suggested to be dispersed and jump over it. The others have not supported me, therefore it was necessary to unload things from a kayak and to transfer all overland.

On a dam had dinner canned food and have floated further. Wood has ended, and that day we have found suitable place for camping and have landed anywhere. Have dissolved a fire (hardly have found from what), have fried fish, have welded porridge, had supper and have laid down to sleep.

In the morning had a bite, have gathered and have set out. Floated hours till 5 pm with a lunch break, wood has again begun, we have found a good place on the right coast and have stopped, there we have staid couple of days. Tried to fish kiddle, the screen, but so that have not caught. Have then reached to Serebryanka (it on border of Donetsk and Lugansk areas), have disassembled a kayak, have plunged into an electric train and have left home.
